Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the physical, psychological, social health status of military women in the view
of PRECEDE model. The data were collected from 980 military women(officer & noncommissioned officer) of every branch of service by using the questionnaire developed for this study and THI health index. The data were analyzed with the descriptive statistics, chi-square test, ANOVA by SPSS/Win.
The significant results of the study are as follows.
1. In the view of social health status, 69.2% reported that they are satisfied with their military life, the most difficult problem in their military life was separation from their family and bringing-up of their children.
2. In the view of women health status, 25.3% answered that they have irregular menstruation cycle, 84.5% reported that they have pre-menstrual symptoms 24.5% answered that they have high-risk pregnancy.
3. In the result of THI analysis, the aged group was significantly high in aggressive-ness, falsehood. The forward area group was significantly higher than the backward area group in aggressiveness, the backward area group was significantly higher than the forward area group in depressiveness. The married group was significantly higher than the not-married group in oral and anal symptoms.
4. In the view of behavioral & environmental assessment, 75.2% reported that they have alcohol beverage, 0.1% reported that they smoke. 34.7% reported that they have regular diet. 42.3% reported that they have good sleep. They answered necessary medical service for military women was obstetric-gynecology clinic, nursing home for children, and military women health center.
